Young Biochemist and Molecular Biologist (YBMB) Program 2023:  Multidisciplinary for Sustainability

Rationale

Multidisciplinary research is essential in research and technology advances.  Hence, research collaboration become an important factor that facilitate research and  technology development in all scientific areas including biochemistry and molecular  biology. In addition, as young scientists, the opportunity to learn from or exchange  their research idea with the renowned scientists is highly beneficial for their future  career. Accordingly, this program is aimed to provide opportunities for young scientists  to exchange their scientific experiences, present their work, learn from and be inspired  by renowned scientists. At the same time, this is also a good opportunity to initiate the  future research collaboration and networking between the young scientists in the  region and beyond throughout various activities provided.

With the global warming situation and energy crisis seen globally, research  innovation and sustainable development need to be coupled. During this program,  participants will collaboratively develop a short proposal for sustainable development inspired from their site visits ranging from pharmaceutical industry to botanical fields.  The program not only provides the chance for the aspiring scientists to exchange their  idea and initiate their future collaboration, but it also provides the opportunities for  them to meet and get inspired from the well-established and award-winning scientists.

Objectives

  1. To provide the opportunity for young scientists to meet and exchange their idea  with the well-established scientists in the field
  2. To initiate networking among young scientists
  3. To facilitate future research collaboration among young scientists
